Feeding Tube
Kacie had a great night. She slept from 7pm until 8am. Dr. Smith looked at her stomach and small bowel with the scope. He said her stomach lining was red and irritated probably from all the throwing up she has been doing. He didn't see anything definite that could be causing the problems. He took a few biopsy, but we won't have any results for a while. He put in a feeding tube. We are hoping it will only be temporary. Kacie is pretty deflated right now and not wanting to get out of her room because she is embarrassed.

Hey Kacie,
Glad to hear you got a good nights sleep, I am sure the feeding tube is only temporary, just to help you along so you can go home soon. Hang in there sweetie, and have a good weekend.

Kacie, we want you to know that you are beautiful feeding tube or not. Just remember what Dr. Jansen said that this is a bridge to help you get over a big raging river. It won't be long until you'll have that tube out. We pray that you are soon able to quite vomiting but we pray especially that you know how wonderful you are. You're having one of the most courageous fights for your life. If you were watching this play out on a big screen TV you would look at the patient with admiration and love, and you would see that child's efforts as heroic. You would never be critical and that is how we feel about you. You are our hero and we love you more than we know how to express it with words. Take care sweetheart. We will see you soon. P.S. We love you, too, Tammy. We feel for you having to watch your daughter feel so helpless. That is HARD WORK. Please be kind to yourself.

We miss you so much! We are sorry you are having to deal with that tube, but hopefully it will help you get stronger so you can go home sooner! We continue to pray for you all! We echo what Grandma & Grandpa said, "YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!" We love you all so much!
Kacie, last summer my grandson, Steele, had a bad virus that turned his esophagus black & red, it was awful. They had to put a feeding tube in to help him heal, and it was the best thing!! I know it is a little uncomfortable, but it is so much better than puking, and your stomach will get better so much faster if you let it rest!!! We love you so much, and are so grateful that St. Lukes and the doctors there are working so hard to get you better.
