Brady is still struggling. His platelet counts dropped again today, down to 16. If he drops to 10 they will give him a blood transfusion. More than likely they will give red blood cells tomorrow. They have officially diagnosed him with HUS (Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome). Simply put it means that the infection has advanced to his kidneys and he is passing blood through the kidneys. The good thing is that he is still peeing. As long as he can keep that up they won't have to do dialysis. Thank you for your prayers. We hope you know how much it means to us that you care!

Kacie has had a pretty good afternoon. The doctor from Portland was here and he is still very hopeful that Kacie will be able to go home without dialysis, but time will tell. He was encouraged with her Pancreas counts. She peed after he left and for the first time it looked more like normal urine. It is still dark, but not like the watered down chocolate milk look it has been. Her great aunts Anita and Jo played Yahtzee with her. She's quite the Yahtzee champ. Others came to visit too. Thank you!

So I'd never heard of HUS before, so I went to mayoclinic.com and found that it stood for "hemolytic uremic syndrome". I can't believe all the things you and your kids are going through with this E-coli stuff! Hopefully, they can get Brady's platelet count under control. It sounds promising as far as Kacie is concerned, though. Karli & I enjoyed visiting with Grandma Sue, Kacie, Grandma Joan & Brady today. You Grandmas are AMAZING! I'm sure Tammy and Scott could not do it without you. Thanks for keeping us posted...we're still praying for you! Love, Tami & fam
So good to see Kacie and Grandma Susan today...wish we could do more. I know it probably feels like it will never end, but we are still praying for you and trying to understand the Lord's hand in all of this. We love you all and hope you're doing okay.
