Nov 5th (Kaylin's Birthday)

Brady and Kacie both went to see Dr. Jenkins today. Brady's blood pressure and urine were both normal so Dr. Jenkins said he has a 0% chance of having any further problems. He doesn't need to see him anymore.

Kacie's blood work looked a lot better. Her BUN was 40 and her creatinine was 6.01 and her phosphorus, potassium and sodium were all within normal ranges. He changed her epoghen shots to once a month now and her calcitrol to every other third day. Plus he only wants to see her once a month. If her creatinine stays about the same the next two months, in January he will start working towards a transplant for Kacie. It could possibly happen next spring or summer. He is still hopefull that her kidneys could improve enough. We will just have to wait and see and keep praying for a miracle.

Kacie, Your creatinine count is back down!!!That's fantastic!! We are sooo glad that you are starting to feel a little better, and what wonderful news that you get to attend school a little on Friday's and see your friends. They will be so glad to see you, and I'll bet it will brighten your day, too. We hope things continue to get better and better for you and your family, and you are in our prayers daily. Love, Mark D. & Brenda

Oh wow, I didn't realize that the kindey function wasn't something that could improve on it's own. Is it possible that she may not need a transplant, or is it inevitable? It boggles my mind that a bacteria can cause sooo many problems. We're so happy that she is home and doing well. You have a very lucky family!

CONGRATULATIONS TO BRADY, I AM SO SO GLAD THAT ALL HAS IMPROVED WITH NO LONG TERM DAMAGE. WHAT GREAT NEWS ON KACIES COUNTS AS WELL, IT SOUNDS LIKE OUR PRAYERS ARE BEING ANSWERED, JUST NOT OVERNIGHT. I WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR KACIES FULL RECOVERY, AND HOPEFULLY NO TRANSPLANT WILL BE NEEDED. I AM SURE THAT ALL THE IMPROVEMENTS IN YOUR KIDS GAVE KAYLIN A GREAT BIG HEAVENLY SMILE FOR HER BIRTHDAY. LOVE YOU GUYS. THANKS FOR THE UPDATES.

Kacie,
It was so FUN to see you over Halloween! The kids were so excited to see you running around, and rollerblading. They still talk about trick-or-treating with you and going through Teniele's line at the store with their costumes on! You are getting so strong! Keep up the good work! We love you tons!
