Transplant Date!!!

The Olympics are almost here and we will be in the hospital again to watch them, but this time in Portland. It is hard to believe that it's been this long. We have continued to have a bumpy road trying to get a kidney donor. When Steve and Scott went to Portland on Dec. 30th for his final testing everything went really smooth until he had to wait so long to meet with the surgeons. During that agonizing time his blood pressure elevated and they were too concerned he would have problems in the future so they decided he wouldn't be able to donate. We were all very disappointed and I know Steve was very upset too. We are so grateful to him for his willingness to try. I know it was a big sacrifice and very stressful. We love you Steve.

Luckily we still have our dear friend as a backup. The transplant has been scheduled for Feb 23rd. We will be heading to Portland on the 21st. We are so ready for this to be over and very nervous and sad we have to do this. Our hearts go out to each of you that have tried to donate, thank you so much and especially to our amazing friend that will be performing this incredible gift of life. We will be forever indebted to you!

We also want to give a heartfelt thank you to each you for your continuing words of encouragement and prayers. They are felt daily, thank you so much.

Tammy, tears are flooding down my checks as I try to type. This has been quite the journey. I echo what others have said, especially about how amazed we are at your strength. I know there are times when even you wonders where it came from. Thank Heaven for the support of our Father in Heaven and for the loving people He has sent your way. We love you and will be right by your side.
